What is ARMA International?

Formed in 1976, ARMA international is an individual membership association for records, information and knowledge management professionals. ARMA's members total more than 10 000 professionals in the US, Canada and 30 other countries. The mission of ARMA is to provide education, research and networking opportunities to information professionals, to enable them to use their skills and experience to leverage the value of records, information and knowledge as corporate assets and contributors to organizational success. What is the Terra Nova Chapter?

Formed in 1990, the Terra Nova Chapter is a sub-group of ARMA International, consisting of local (Newfoundland & Labrador) members. We exist to promote dialogue and contacts on this local level regarding Records and Information Management. As the Constitution states, the chapter exists to:

To promote and advance the improvement of records and information administration and management and related fields through study, education and research.
To advance professional knowledge and techniques by sharing and exchanging experience and information related to the fields of records and information administration and management
To develop and advance standards of professional competence in the field of records and information administration and management.

Business Development. Everyone needs to network. ARMA consists of a cross section of every business community. ARMA members help one another, and collectively help others.

Personal Growth and Development.
Membership in ARMA continues one's growth and education in human relations and personal development.

Continuing Education.
The local Chapter of ARMA regularly promotes educational program designed to keep one informed as to what is going on in the Records Management (RM) community.

Entertainment.
Every ARMA chapter and region has activities which provide diversion in one's business life. ARMA has conferences, conversations, assemblies and institutes which provide entertainment in addition to ARMA information and education.
